Almost There!

I think I can, I think I can…

I am so close! I can feel it. Confused? Let’s take this back a step. I just reached 913 viewers on my clustrmap from all over the world. My all time goal for this blog is to get to 1000. I am so close! I just need your help. First off I would like to let you know that this is in no way a publicity stunt, it is a goal that I would like to meet. If you would like to help me you can.. Umm… I am not sure… I should probably deal with that first. Let’s change paths here. If you want to help me by helping me with ideas on how to help my blog… Is that right?.. Anyway. Please leave me a comment with what you think I should do to help me by helping with… You heard it once!

P.S. THANKS!

Mother Nature and Me

April 27, 2009

Yesterday in the afternoon, we went outside to and sat down somewhere, alone, not distracted, to write about our appreciation for nature. I was really tired that day, so I just wrote my thoughts. This is what I ended up with:

Sitting here, in the field, leaning against a goal post, makes me feel very relaxed. I love soccer and nature. It’s the best of both. I’m tired. And hungry. I want some sushi. A cucumber roll perhaps? Or a spicy California roll? Mm… As the Japanese say. Actually I don’t know what the Japanese say. I have to go to the bathroom. I am in the middle of a field, quite far away from washroom facilities. Oh no. I see… A straw? And a clipboard that Haley has left on the field. Supposedly “thinking” as she rolls around in the grass. Okay, now I’ve gotta go. Gotta go, gotta go, gotta go! Ashyratplydono!! (What did I just say?) Whoa. A really evil fly just landed on my paper. “Hi!… Okay… Sorry… Good fly…(help)” I say in my mind. He made a very sudden movement “AAAAAHHHHHHH! BUG!” I yell even though I’m not supposed to speak. I know I will always come across things in nature I will not be fond of, but I still love it. Mother Nature? Thanks. I appreciate it.

How did I come up with that?

Oh no.

April 9, 2009

I am laying here in the emergency room, with this evil doctor staring at me and I start to wonder how I got here.

It all started when I was driving down this abandon highway when I saw this semi truck with a sign on the side that said “Warning: This Vehicle Contains Hammers”. Just that alone would freak someone out. Then, another semi came along that said “Warning: This Truck Contains Nails”. We all know how this is going to end, and all I can say is thank God for that pillow truck!

You have no idea what is happening here and frankly neither do I. I guess I‘ll just be nice to this guy because I could turn around and the next moment he would have a knife in his hand. That would be a bad moment. A very, bad moment.

My leg hurts. Wait… I didn’t injure my leg! Oh my gosh! (I think he heard me)

Okay, now he is about to put this thing on my mouth. Maybe it is laughing gas. I can’t wait. No, what am I saying! Maybe I already have the gas. That would be wonderful. No! No it wouldn’t. Stop saying that! Knock knock. No! Stop being friendly this guy is about to kill you. I have a feeling that my time may soon be up, and I have to say this before the gas really gets to me, and because of that I will make my will. And, unfortunately for you, you’re not getting anything! Ha ha!

Wow!

April 5, 2009

What a survey!

I never imagined having so many responses after having my blogging survey up for 3 days. (I used survey monkey and when you use that you can analyze results) I received a comment from Sue Waters saying she really liked my survey. (And Haley’s!) She has advised me to get the results and post them on my blog so everyone will know the popularity’s of blogging and maybe even some things that they can improve on there own blogs. I have decided that I will wait one week, and then I will gather the results. (I can feel the tension building already!)

Come to my blog on Tuesday, April 14, and they should posted!

I can’t wait!

What Do You Think?

April 2, 2009

Sue Waters is holding a competition!

On her blog she wrote post with topics for posts that the readers of her blog can write. She also said that the 4 best posts will win a 12 month Edublog subscription!

I decided to do option number one. That was this particular topic:

“Your own choice of topic but must include embedded media, created by the student or class, such as a SlideShare, video, comic strip, podcast, quiz, poll.  Here’s the chance to demonstrate how creative you can be!”

The embedded media I chose was a survey. A special survey. A survey about what you think of blogging. I want your honest opinion and if you do not have a blog, just reply what you think it would be like if you had a blog and were able to connect with people from around the world.

Okay… Here it is… My chance to find out more about blogging… What do you think?… It matters to me… This is supposed to be really dramatic… The SURVEY. (To rule them all)

Now that you have taken the survey… What do you think? Was it Interesting? Were the questions hard to answer? Easy? What was your favourite question? What do you think? There is only one person that can answer that question… In most situations, that person is you.

10 Tips For Staying Alive

March 23, 2009
  1. Don’t give in to peer pressure such as jumping of a cliff. If you commit suicide, I guarantee, you WILL die.
  2. Don’t jump off of a tall building.
  3. Don’t lock yourself in your garage and run your car engine.
  4. Don’t put your brain in the microwave.
  5. Don’t get into a car with the man who is on the wanted signs in the public washrooms.
  6. Don’t run with sharp objects such as chopsticks, erasers, sharp pieces of paper, etc.
  7. Don’t eat no-name cereal.
  8. Do not watch the show “1000 ways to die”. This may influence the choices you make in the near future.
  9. Wear safety goggles when using scissors.
  10. Buckle up!
I wish everyone the best of luck staying alive!

Tagged Once More…

March 10, 2009

I was tagged! This time it was by Mr.Bogush. He tagged me to write six things that make me happy.

Hmm…

(Lots of thinking later)

Here they are!

  1. Sports. I live to play sports. All sports. Soccer, basketball, soccer, volleyball, did I say soccer already?
  2. Vacation! I love to travel. This weekend I am going to Disneyland for the 3rd time!
  3. Horror movies. For my birthday I really wanted to have a whole bunch of friends over and have a horror movie marathon but my mom said that some girls would be scared. (SURE!)
  4. Friends. I love my friends and everything about them.
  5. Family! I love my family. When I go to Disneyland I am going with my uncle, two of my aunts, my grandparents, two of my cousins, my parents, and my brother. That should be interesting!
  6. Challenges. I really like when my abilities are tested. On Sunday we were challenged at soccer. The older team wanted a piece of us. Our whole team took that challenge head on and changed our reputation by taking the victory 3-1!

These are 6 things that make me happy! I have decided to tag these 6 people:

Miley

Bailey

Jackh604

Fariha

Devon

Faizah

I wish all 6 of them and who ever they tag the best of luck!

Grade 8

February 24, 2009

To be in band, or to not be in band. That is the true question.

Today Mark R. Isfeld’s band and jazz band came to our school to play for us. Following the wonderful and very loud performance, Mrs.Smith asked us if we would want to be in band when we reached grade 8 (if the teachers would tolerate us for that much longer).

During my brothers first year of high school, (which was grade 9 because there has been a configuration since then) He played the tenor saxophone. I always loved it, and if I was lucky sometimes he would let me fool around with it! It was so much fun! When I am in grade I hope to also play the tenor sax.

My favourite part of the performance was the featured soloist. They played the kazoo!

Do you play an instrument? If so which one? Is band an option at your school? I would like to find out.

What to Choose…

February 21, 2009

I am thinking of customizing my banner image, but I do not know what to put there! Help!

I was thinking of something very, very, random, just like me! Maybe… A cow?… A glass of orange juice?… The alphabet?… Mr.Incredible?… Batman? These are just ideas right off the top of my head. Hey, that gave me an idea! How about Bob Marley? (Don’t ask how I linked “off the top of my head.” to “Bob Marley”!)

I was thinking of a super hero or something. I am going to be Superman for Halloween this year. OH! Maybe the S chest on Superman’s costume-y thing! No… Ughhhh! I am so confused! What do you think it should be?

A very confused,

Sophie

Happy Valentines Day to you!

February 14, 2009
Happy Valentines Day to you! Happy Valentines, Happy Valentines, Happy Valentines Day to you!

Hope you enjoyed my ‘lovely’ song. The End. No, I’m just kidding. This isn’t over!  Whoa! that sounds really sinister!

Today is Saturday, February 14, 2009 and it is my 11Th Valentines day! It is one of my fave days of the year, do you know why?

Because, exactly one month from today, I get to go to Disneyland in California! It will be my third time going but it is even more special this time because I get to share it with…

My parents, my brother, my two cousins, my uncle, two of my aunts, and my grandparents! I am beyond excited!

Another reason why today is very special is that everyone is so kind and loving. I am not sure about you, but I think there is less bickering between siblings on the 14Th, do you?

Anyways, I love it (not just because of the whole Disneyland thing)! I like it because it is the perfect excuse to be lazy and watch a really sappy movie. I would do that right know if I could. Grab a whole load of chocolate and spread out on the coach. In fact I’m going to do that right now. See ya!

P.S. What do you on Valentines Day!
