What does me wanna be when me grows up?…. I don’t know. Wait this just in…. I know what I wanna be when me… I grow up.
I have really always wanted to be a trial lawyer beause I enjoy spirited debates. I would really like that job but if I want to go to law school that means I have to get a scholarship because there is no way I am going to pay for it alone. 8 years? With out a scholarship? Not going to happen.
Or… My absolute dream job would be… THE PERSON WHO SINGS CHEESY SONGS ON KIDS SHOWS! Yeah! That would be really fun! And totally embarrassing but I think I crossed that line when I when I did the hokey poky for intermission at the school talent show! It was so much fun. We were dressed as 80’s aerobics instructors and we got up on that stage willingly and got the whole school doing the hokey poky… Voluntarily! Awesome right?! Don’t answer that question.

Over the past 2 weeks our class has been working with Franziska and Josh from Arts Umbrella. Using a web cam, we took hundreds of pictures using two different programs. Motion Sequence and Multiple Exposure. Haley and I used Motion Sequence for this particular photo. It is a picture of a broken battery charger. INTENCE! Once I put a non-rechargable battery in the charger and it sort of… BOOM!… Actually, I did that twice. He he… Woops!
In Motion Sequence there many different grids you can use. For this picture we used 4 by 1 and made the border really big to create this… Masterpiece???
I really like this picture because of the border and the slant it is on. The thing I would change would probably be making sure that you can see the whole word because you can’t really read it.
Today our class went to Mark Isfeld to watch a performance put on my the grade 11 and 12’s and a grade 4 class from our school. It was…. Interesting.
What do you think of my photo?

P.S. Guess what? My blog has reached it’s goal of 1000 visits! Actually 1025!

To be in band, or to not be in band. That is the true question.
Today Mark R. Isfeld’s band and jazz band came to our school to play for us. Following the wonderful and very loud performance, Mrs.Smith asked us if we would want to be in band when we reached grade 8 (if the teachers would tolerate us for that much longer).
During my brothers first year of high school, (which was grade 9 because there has been a configuration since then) He played the tenor saxophone. I always loved it, and if I was lucky sometimes he would let me fool around with it! It was so much fun! When I am in grade I hope to also play the tenor sax.
My favourite part of the performance was the featured soloist. They played the kazoo!
Do you play an instrument? If so which one? Is band an option at your school? I would like to find out.

I am thinking of customizing my banner image, but I do not know what to put there! Help!
I was thinking of something very, very, random, just like me! Maybe… A cow?… A glass of orange juice?… The alphabet?… Mr.Incredible?… Batman? These are just ideas right off the top of my head. Hey, that gave me an idea! How about Bob Marley? (Don’t ask how I linked “off the top of my head.” to “Bob Marley”!)
I was thinking of a super hero or something. I am going to be Superman for Halloween this year. OH! Maybe the S chest on Superman’s costume-y thing! No… Ughhhh! I am so confused! What do you think it should be?
A very confused,
Sophie

Happy Valentines Day to you! Happy Valentines, Happy Valentines, Happy Valentines Day to you!
Hope you enjoyed my ‘lovely’ song. The End. No, I’m just kidding. This isn’t over! Whoa! that sounds really sinister!
Today is Saturday, February 14, 2009 and it is my 11Th Valentines day! It is one of my fave days of the year, do you know why?
Because, exactly one month from today, I get to go to Disneyland in California! It will be my third time going but it is even more special this time because I get to share it with…
My parents, my brother, my two cousins, my uncle, two of my aunts, and my grandparents! I am beyond excited!
Another reason why today is very special is that everyone is so kind and loving. I am not sure about you, but I think there is less bickering between siblings on the 14Th, do you?
Anyways, I love it (not just because of the whole Disneyland thing)! I like it because it is the perfect excuse to be lazy and watch a really sappy movie. I would do that right know if I could. Grab a whole load of chocolate and spread out on the coach. In fact I’m going to do that right now. See ya!

Our class visited Bringing us Together and saw the latest post. It was about our special place. Whoa having a flash back.
(A lot of flash-backing later…)
Now that that’s over. As I was saying. Special place. My flash back was about my special place. It is on a small island in British Columbia called Hornby Island.
We have a cabin across from the Whaling Station bay. I absolutely love it there and I feel so privileged to be able to visit Hornby so often.
I haven’t gotten to the best part yet! When we go out to the point to the right we jump of the reef and swim back to the shore line. In the summer of 2008, my friend Erin and I jumped of, took an under water camera and took pictures of each other.
Wait ! It gets even better! My brothers god sister and I went to the point to the left and went in what we call ‘The Whale’s mouth’. (It is this huge sand stone formation that looks like the mouth of a whale. It is probably as big as one too!) That is when we noticed…(Dramatic pause)…That you could climb on top of it!
Of course, we got to our feet and bolted to the side of the mouth. We found out we had to scale the side of the mouth. We grabbed tree roots and rocks and each others feet to get to the top. We had sand and dirt in between our bare toes, but believe me, it was SO worth it!
When we got to the top we just stood there. Speechless. It was like being at the top of a cliff! You could see the entire beach from there. It was breath taking.
When we finally came down we went back to the beach, got our lunch, went back and ate it on top of the mouth, our mouths wide open in astonishment. It was incredible.
Do you have a special place? Let me know!

The very first post on my blog was 7 random facts. Well, I have thought of some more. These ones are probably the most random of them all. More random than puppies in purple convertibles like this one over here. I call him Jiggly-Pants. Anyways, here they are.

- I like to eat yogurt with a fork.
- I once ate an apple that tasted like a tomato.
- Bananas make the inside of my mouth itchy.
- I donated 9 inches of my hair to children with cancer or going through chemotherapy.
- Both of my parents are working in schools. My dad is a principal and my mom is a grade 1 teacher.
- I saw the movie ‘Mamma Mia’ 3 times in theaters and then got the sing-along from my aunt for Christmas.
- I now have 14 random facts posted on my blog.
Like ‘em? Pretty Random eh? Well I hope these interesting facts gave you some smiles.
Do you have an interesting fact about yourself? If so, please leave it in a comment.
Hope you liked it!

A few of my class mates have been making up ways to get in trouble. That isn’t what these are. They’re the opposite. These are the top 10 cheesiest, suck-up lines to get the his/her mind of what ever they were about punish you for.
- “I forgot the cookies I made for you at home.”
- “I was running to the store to buy you a present when a stray dog ran in front of me so I took him to the SPCA and visited with the other animals without homes or people to care for them.”
- “Since you are so angry right now, and you don’t want the burnt cookies, you could just look the other way so I can run.”
- “I lost the recipe.”
- “Whoops.”
- “Coming mother!”
- “Look at that tree. Fascinating.”
- “I burnt the cookies.”
- “Peanut butter, or chocolate chip?”
- “I thought the cookies I had made for you weren’t filled with enough love.”
You probably don’t want to be sent to the “naughty corner” like Lucy over here, so use these tips.

Happy New Year!
Many people made new year’s resolutions on new years, but I always forget. This year, instead of figuring it out the day after, I… (dramatic pause) … (another dramatic pause) … I still have no idea!
I went to the new blog, Bringing Us Together, and saw the latest post about new year’s resolutions for a better planet. Lately, I have been trying to be more environmentally friendly, (even though I am using a main energy sucker right now!) this year I am going to hit it full force! Starting with…with….umm.. Stuck again! I guess I am still recovering from the holiday and am not quite back into an everyday routine.
(Lots of thinking later…) I will start small. Very small. A little recycling here, some turned off taps there. Easy things. I will also try to encourage other people to join with me in this courageous act of kindness to our earth we like to call home.
Will you join with me? Or is your resolution different, bigger, bolder! I wonder…

…And it is coming fast! Kids everywhere were waiting for this time of year to come! Guess what? It did.
My family loves Christmas! The night before Christmas, also known as Christmas Eve, my brother and I exchange the gifts we got for each other, but no other presents are touched until the morning of the 25.
On Christmas morning, my mom, dad and I are all awake at about 8:30 and we wait in the living room for my brother to wake up. Last year we had to wake him up because we were all getting very anxious (mostly me) and he would have kept sleeping and sleeping and sleeping…
When he finally does wake up (or is woken up against his will) we open our presents one by one so everyone can see and hear the excitement of the opener.
After the presents are opened and the wrapping paper is cleaned up, we usually have a special breakfast with fruit, sausage, eggs and pancakes.
Christmas day is very laid back in our family. We usually spend the day experimenting with our gifts and sometimes don’t get changed until our Christmas dinner! We have turkey or ham, stuffing, potatoes, corn, gravy…Yum… and for dessert (last year) my mom made chocolate mousse! Yum… We do not spend Christmas at our house every year. Sometimes we are at my grandparent’s house. Once we were on a cruise through the Caribbean! This year we will spending our Christmas at my grandpa’s house.
How do you spend Christmas? Is it important in your family? What are you doing this Christmas? I would love to find out!
